For decades, Cheltenham Dental has been more than just a practice to me – it has been a place where I’ve had the privilege of building lifelong relationships with so many wonderful patients and families. Some of you have been with me since the very beginning, and I’ve watched generations grow, sharing in your milestones, stories, and smiles. It has truly been an honour to care for you and be a part of your lives.
As I take a step back from full-time dentistry, it was incredibly important to me to find the right person to continue the legacy of warmth, trust, and high-quality care that we have built together. I wanted someone who not only has exceptional clinical skills but also shares the same values that define Cheltenham Dental – honesty, compassion, and a deep commitment to patient well-being.
After a thorough search, I am pleased to introduce Dr Sangeeta V. Subramanian, who I trust wholeheartedly to carry forward this tradition. From the moment we met, I knew she was the right person to take over the practice. Her dedication to patient care, her gentle and understanding nature, and her strong clinical expertise align perfectly with everything we stand for.
I want to reassure you that while I am reducing my hours to allow for some travel and personal time, I will still be available at the practice for a period of time. This means I’ll have the opportunity to personally introduce many of you to Dr Sangeeta, ensuring a smooth and comfortable transition.
Meet Dr Sangeeta
Dr Sangeeta brings over 25 years of experience in dentistry, with expertise in a wide range of treatments, including:
- Comprehensive treatment planning
- Cosmetic smile makeovers
- Crown and bridge work
- Endodontics (root canal treatment)
- Paediatric dentistry
- Prosthodontics (dentures, implants, and restorations)
Originally from India, Dr Sangeeta completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1995 and later qualified through the Australian Dental Council examination process. Since then, she has worked extensively in both private practice and community dental health settings, including roles at Plenty Valley Community Health, Central Bayside Community Health (Parkdale), and AIDER Dental, where she has also trained and mentored aspiring dentists.
Dr Sangeeta is known for her gentle, patient-focused approach and takes great pride in ensuring that every patient feels comfortable, valued, and heard. Like me, she believes in a patient-first philosophy, where treatment is always delivered with kindness, transparency, and the highest standard of care.
